To do a quick analysis of a bigger link list, SEOs like to track just three main factors. Let me mention these common factors used by webmasters to determine the quality of links.
Link Indexing:
Indexing means search engines getting or collecting web pages and storing them in its database.
Domain Authority (DA):
The domain authority (DA) of a website is a score that describes its relevance for a specific subject area or industry.
Page Authority (PA):
Page Authority (PA) is a score that guesses how well a specific web page will rank on a search engine.
SEO, webmasters, used to think that the more links they had to their websites, the better would be its ranking on search engines
Then after Google algorithm updates and the Penguin put an end to it all. Even websites with quality content were penalized for spammy backlinks.
Yet many are retracing their steps and playing clean up by using the free URL tracker software to analyze the value of each individual link.
The problem started when some went to buy spam links that were being openly sold on the internet. Link farms were created and sold by shysters, and website owners fell for these deals and bought these links. But that's where the myth of having links regardless of where they came from to a website ended. Some websites allow other websites to create links. But the webmaster of these sites must not give blanket permission to every website that exists on the internet to create links to it. Why would a fashion magazine's site permit a pet training site to create a link to it?
